Production

The Magillem Virtual Factory platform manages production flow by reclaiming everything that currently exists and by vastly simplifying rollout of the operational chain

The goal is to ensure that the specific activities of a production site are managed both fluidly and optimally

  • Magillem’s idea of a virtual factory based on metadata lets customers track software variations (technology changes, machine changes, etc.) thereby separating workflow management from the tools. This involves implementing a work methodology rather than locking the client into a rigid, immutable framework.
  • All of the applications can migrate on a flexible rollout schedule with no negative impact on the Production site’s operations.
  • New applications can be developed by the Client’s IT department, Magillem or by a service provider.
  • Magillem’s technology can be transferred to the Client to preserve its independence, flexibility, and its long-term value investment value. If a production site is outsourced for example, required workflow adaptations can be made using micro-workshop software (Magillem Content Studio) available on the Magillem platform. And a new report requested by the Financial Director, for example, can be created immediately. Needs of future users can be built in without going back to square one.
  • Alignment with the ecosystem’s new technologies (Web 2.0 flex/ajax, Flot JBOSS, Oracle) is both immediate and evolving because the principle behind the solution is to integrate various “point tools” over time.
  • Collected data that currently exists, yet goes unused, will be put to immediate use.
  • Risk of obsolescence is limited.
  • Reusing applications already in place limits implementation costs.

Advantages to the Magillem solution are many

  • Specific requirements of the business-segment’s production chain are built in
  • Maximum trackability
  • Long-term, evolving solution
  • Flexible and adaptable management chain
  • Service offering covers special needs
  • Offer features overall cost containment: software, hardware, service, maintenance
  • Gradual rollout
  • Client maintains independence for future application development.
  • Ecosystem integration (purchasing, clients, JIT production, service providers, partners, subcontractors).

ROI is broken down over time, as follows:

Various functionalities pivot on a single axis: the management of processes and their documentation:

  • Monitoring projects at a variety of hierarchical levels,
  • Through the mapping of a process, and access to sensitive information: confidential documents, elements, roles of the parties involved, risks, etc.
  • Automation of “team” or “system” based processes
  • Creation of circulation corridors to watch the baton pass from one department to another,
  • Verification and observance of procedures and standards,
  • Oversight of the publication of documents linked to a specific process,
  • Access to processes in progress, and to information on these processes in real time via the internet ,
  • Creation of standardized methods to manage processes and projects,
  • Management of priorities, impacts and statistics on risks involved in a process.
  • View trouble spots in a process or work post at a glance,
  • Compliance with one or many international standards.

Magillem forges the links of communication between production chains and production oversight.

By interfacing with the production chain, the platform is able to retrieve information directly from the tasks in progress, and provides:

  • Production flow monitoring
  • Dashboard with trackability
  • Planning oversight
