To accelerate the design of complex systems, such as System-on-Chip (SoC), and FPGA based solutions, the IP-XACT standard provides a mechanism for describing and handling multi-sourced IP that enables automated design integration and configuration within multi-vendor tool flows. To achieve these goals, Magillem presents MPA, the center piece of a powerful intuitive Integrated Design Environment. The user friendly interface guides the designer during platform assembly and configuration, and streamlines exploration and implementation of IP-based systems

Architecture
A multi-site, multi format, schematic editor allowing fast integration, connection, configuration, and verification of design in reusable methodology, reduce risk of errors and ensure a high quality of the system and a compliance with certification requirements.
Advanced parameterization, collaborative features to handle component in digital and/or analog design environment
User friendly GUI and wizards drive the user over inherent IP-XACT complexity, the interconnection fastidious operation.
Flexible Generators Customization performed thru native Objet Oriented API, template-based Engine or IP-XACT TGI.
A set of ESL, RTL and Analog preinstalled connectors allow to pilot third party tools using IP-XACT
One of the toughest challenges in today platform creation is the increasing size and complexity of such designs couple with a lower time to market. As Integration of third parties components is now commonly used a way to exchange integration information also becomes critical.
Based on the IP-XACT (IEEE 1685) standard MPA is built on a worldwide accepted exchange standard. It provides a user friendly common environment to share information and configure the platform all along the flow from the system conception to the IP integration.
As it is fully hierarchical and provides flatten and merge capabilities MPA also provides an easy and error free way to distribute activities around multiple teams in a seamless collaborative way.
This built in hierarchical approach directly provides an out of the box reuse and derivative capability.
Multiple third party tools connector for RTL ESL and analog bring the IP-XACT description to a single golden reference along the product life cycle. RTL platform and its Virtual Prototype are not anymore out of sinc.
“MDS Platform assembly tools allowed us easy architecture exploration, mix design support and third party IPs integration. Using such a tool improves significantly IPs life cycle management by using a single golden reference.Over a 3 years usage of the tool we noticed a 25% time gain in new platform integration and a 50% gain on platform derivatives.” Says Stephane GUNTZ, Principal Engineer at Magillem Design Services.
